Lee’s scalp micropigmentation transformation
Lee was 42 when he came to Permanent Perfection. His hair had always been long, but thinning at the front and back had gradually changed how he looked and how he felt comfortable going out.
Hair loss had started controlling what Lee wore
Lee avoided shaving his head by wearing caps throughout the day. Even special occasions meant finding a smarter version of the same disguise.
“I couldn’t bring myself to shaving my head so I got into a habit of wearing caps all of the time instead. If I was going out to a special occasion I’d wear a smart flat cap instead looking like a Peaky Blinder!”
He had watched other men in his family lose their hair and eventually shave their heads. Lee wanted to keep his longer hairstyle for as long as possible, but the thinning continued.
“I personally didn’t want the baldy look so I tried to keep what I had left for as long as I could but was getting worse.”
A hair transplant did not feel like the right answer
Lee considered travelling to Turkey for a hair transplant but decided the uncertainty was not right for him.
“Cheap yes but I had read good & bad stories about this treatment & I personally didn’t want to take that chance. One guy had it done & It didn’t grow back properly so ended up shaving it anyway. So I decided this wasn’t the road I wanted to go down.”
A hairpiece and coloured spray created a new routine
Lee then tried a fitted frontal hairpiece, styled into his remaining long hair. Brunette dry-shampoo spray concealed the thinning at the back and initially gave him the fuller appearance he wanted.
Maintaining that appearance soon became a constant job. The spray transferred onto his skin, bedding, towels and clothes. The hairpiece needed removing and refitting every six to eight weeks and replacing approximately every six months.
“It looked pretty awesome however, the spray got everywhere. Constantly washing my hands, forehead, pillow cases, towels, clothes, etc, this was a pain.”
“I would also have to have the front hair piece removed & refitted every 6 to 8 weeks & the piece would also need replacing every 6 months or so which wasn’t exactly cheap either. I really couldn’t be bothered will all of this anymore.”
A holiday in Greece became the final straw
The heat made both the hairpiece and spray impossible for Lee to manage. What had been intended to conceal his hair loss instead became another source of worry.
“The final straw for me was a trip to Greece which was a million degrees & the glue was literally melting the hair piece off my head & the brunette spray dripping from my scalp, not good.”
Lee removed the hairpiece, stopped using the spray and returned to wearing his cap.
“I got home, ripped it off & stopped using the spray. My cap went firmly back on & I was pretty much back to square one.”
A personal recommendation led Lee to Rebecca
Lee discovered scalp micropigmentation through a video on social media. His partner’s friend, Amy, recommended Rebecca after having other treatments with her at Permanent Perfection.

Rebecca replied immediately and Lee attended his first session within a week.

Four sessions created Lee’s new shaved-head style
Rebecca began by shaving Lee’s remaining hair and establishing the foundations of his new hairline and full-head result. The appearance developed across four treatment sessions.
“First session, Rebecca shaved my head which was crazy, there was so much hair & yep I was now completely bald & had the look I didn’t want at all. She started laying out the foundations, etc which was great.”
“The second session I could slowly see it taking shape but after the third session I was like wow, it looked awesome, I couldn’t believe it.”
The fourth session completed the appearance and gave Rebecca the opportunity to check the whole result with Lee.

Lee left with a full hairline—and without his cap
The finished result gave Lee the clean shaved-head style he had previously resisted because it no longer looked like hair loss had made the decision for him.
“It looked so cool, yes I was a baldy but I had a full hairline which was great. It just looked like I’d shaved my head but not because I was going bald.”
For Lee, the result meant leaving behind the hairpiece, coloured spray and constant need to wear a cap.

How much does scalp micropigmentation cost?
