Lee was 42 when he visited Permanent Perfection. His hair had always been long, but thinning at the front and back had gradually changed his appearance and how comfortable he felt when going out.
He could not bring himself to shave his head, so he started wearing caps throughout the day. Even on special occasions, he relied on a smarter flat cap to hide his hair loss.
“I personally didn’t want the baldy look so I tried to keep what I had left for as long as I could but was getting worse.”
Lee considered travelling to Turkey for a hair transplant but decided the uncertainty was not right for him. He then tried a frontal hairpiece fitted into his remaining hair and used coloured spray to conceal the thinning at the back.
The combination initially created the fuller appearance he wanted, but maintaining it became an ongoing and expensive routine.
The hairpiece had to be removed and refitted every six to eight weeks and replaced approximately every six months. The spray transferred onto his hands, forehead, bedding, towels and clothes.
“It looked pretty awesome however, the spray got everywhere. Constantly washing my hands, forehead, pillow cases, towels, clothes, etc, this was a pain.”
A holiday in Greece became the final straw. The heat softened the glue holding the hairpiece and caused the coloured spray to run from his scalp. Lee returned home, removed the hairpiece and went back to wearing his cap.
